Common Sense Retirement Planning’s mission is to reduce financial fear in retirement. Our primary focus is retirement income strategies, and we aim to help provide retirees and pre-retirees with safety of assets, financial liquidity, favorable tax statuses, protection from nursing home expenses and probate.

We recognize the concern among seniors over outliving their retirement savings, and therefore, gain immense satisfaction from being able to create financial solutions for these wonderful people.

Rebecca Kincaid, CLU • Retirement Planner

Rebecca Kincaid is a good ole Georgia girl who grew up on a sweet potato farm in south Georgia. She has lived in Greenville since 2012 with her husband, Pate, who was transferred here as a salesman for John Deere. She left Atlanta kicking and screaming but now is so happy God led her to Greenville. She has fallen in love with the people, the town and the family environment that is fostered here.

Rebecca began her career in the insurance industry more than 17 years ago as a writing agent. She earned a B.A. in public relations from Valdosta State University in 2003. In 2004, she joined Old Mutual Financial Network as a regional coordinator, earning promotion to and serving as life regional manager and annuity regional manager.

Rebecca has vast experience in retirement income plans, life insurance, long-term care and tax-efficient retirement strategies. Rebecca is currently registered with FINRA – where she holds her Series 6, 63 and 65 licenses. She also holds P&C, life and health licenses through the South Carolina Department of Insurance. In 2010, she earned the designation of Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) through The American College.

One of her favorite things about the business is building relationships with clients and helping them work toward financial independence. In addition to working with clients, Rebecca worked with Tarkenton Financial, founded by 1986 Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee Fran Tarkenton. For more than 7 years, she managed more than 200 Tarkenton Financial professionals, helping them to build their financial practices.

When Rebecca is not working, she is wrestling with her son, Finley, or playing princess with her two daughters, Ava and Temple.

Wesley Palmer • Registered Representative

Wesley Palmer is a local boy who was born in Greenville and raised in Taylors, South Carolina. He attended Greenville Technical College, then went on to get a national certification to become a fitness trainer. After a successful stint working as a fitness trainer/coach helping people achieve physical goals, he decided to change course and pursue a career in retirement planning. Wes is currently registered with FINRA – where he holds Series 7 and 66 licenses. He also holds life and health licenses through the South Carolina Department of Insurance. He has been working with Phillip Allen Inc. since January 2015.

Wes was married in Spring 2017 to Erica. Wes and Erica enjoy spending time with their two dogs, Bonnie and Durro. They recently built a home in Travelers Rest. When Wes isn’t at work, he is usually out on the Swamp Rabbit Trail running/training for local races, or out on his road-bike riding in the mountains.

Wes has a passion for building long-lasting relationships with clients, while helping them achieve safety and peace of mind in retirement.

Laura Crawford • Registered Representative

Laura moved to Greenville from Texas in 1992 and is the proud mom of two boys. She joined Tony Dale Inc. in 2011. Laura has 25 years of experience in telecommunications and management, as well as banking and mortgage lending experience. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Southern Wesleyan University.

Laura is currently registered with FINRA – where she holds Series 6 and 63 licenses. She also holds life, health and long-term care licenses through the South Carolina Department of Insurance.

Laura specializes in retirement, long-term care and life insurance strategies. She enjoys working with clients, while getting to know them and helping develop a strategy that may give them peace of mind and less stress about their money. She enjoys her time outside of work doing DIY home improvements.

Dan Zakes • Registered Servicing Agent

Dan Zakes began working with Phillip Allen in March 2017 and is excited about the opportunity to be a part of Common Sense Retirement Planning. Dan graduated from Northland International University in 2011 with a BA in Biblical counseling. He loves using his counseling background to build relationships with clients and solve the challenges they face to achieve their financial goals. Dan moved from rural Utah in 2017 and married his wife, Jessica, in August 2017. Dan holds FINRA Series 6, 63, and 65 securities licenses along with his South Carolina life insurance license.

Dan and Jessica enjoy their involvement at Palmetto Baptist Church and setting up their new home in Greenville. When time permits, they love adventuring in the Carolina mountains, traveling and volunteering together.

Katie Sanders • Registered Servicing Agent

Katie Sanders is a native of Greenville who began working with the Phillip Allen, Inc. team in 2016. An ardent Crimson Tide fan, Katie earned a B.A in public relations from The University of Alabama and worked in the marketing and consulting fields immediately after college. Katie holds FINRA series 6, 63, and 65 securities licenses along with her South Carolina life insurance.

Katie is an active volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Carolinas, Junior League of Greenville and Alpha Delta Pi sorority. When Katie is not in the office or out in the community, she enjoys traveling, running, reading and playing with her cat – Bear Bryant.

Janine Gieck • Controller/Transfer Manager

Janine Gieck has more than 20 years of experience in the administrative services field; including running her own business providing administrative support for many small Greenville businesses. She graduated from Bob Jones University in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science degree in office administration. Janine has been working with Phillip Allen since 2005. With more than 10 years of experience assisting clients at Phillip Allen, Inc. Janine has become proficient at navigating the often-difficult process of transferring assets. Her organization skills and wide range of experience have made her a welcome addition to the office. Janine was married in 1995 and has two grown children. She enjoys reading and relaxing with her family. She is a member and Nursery Ministry Supervisor at Emmanuel Bible Church in Mauldin, South Carolina.

Melinda Sanders • Office Manager

Melinda has known Phillip for several years and been with the company since 2014. Melinda’s experience is broad from mechanical engineering to sales, from business owner/operator to management. Melinda and her husband, Andy, are clients of Phillip Allen.

Both Melinda and Andy are graduates of South Dakota School of Mines & Technology with BSME degrees. Celebrating over 30 years of marriage, they have two grown daughters, Liz and Katie, and son-in-law, Taylor. Melinda is active at her church, St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. She enjoys setting jigsaw puzzles, Sudoku, cross stitch and walking.

Sarah DelCueto • Receptionist/Administrative Assistant

Sarah was born and raised in the beautiful small town of Brevard, North Carolina. She attended Gulf Coast Community College while living in Florida, then Greenville Technical College after moving closer to family. Sarah has been in customer service for many years, she loves the interaction with people and will easily make you comfortable with her smile.

Sarah is the proud mother of her two athletic-minded sons, Kaden and Blake; spending many days and nights at the Travelers Rest ball fields. Sarah also prides herself as the mother of a precious baby girl, Everly Kate. In her spare time, Sarah enjoys being outside, gardening and spending time with family.
